Kidnappings in the West Bank

“'We are here, let them come in and do whatever they want to do,” Ahmed Saadat said -Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) leader

This was early that morning before the Isralie Defense Forces raided into Jericho prison to arrest him and his inmates from the PFLP.

"The reason that we acted today the way we did was precisely not to allow these prisoners to be released and to scatter around the territories forcing us to do a much more comprehensive larger military operation to arrest them all." Mark Regev said -Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Ref:http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/03/15/mideast.jericho/index.html

From what I read and saw I do not, in any logic, consider what happened a much less military operation. I am aware that they are capable of doing worse but this is an attempt to compare the two articles.

Israeli helicopters, tanks and bulldozers surrounded the prison mid-morning after British and American monitors had been pulled out earlier in the day. Missiles from tanks and helicopters were fired at the building as bulldozers stared tearing down walls, while the Israeli commander of the operation warned prisoners they would have to surrender or “face death.”

Yet.. what really bothered me the most are the photos. They remind me of many previous attempts ( AbuGhraib) to display a certain image of the arab people. Maybe even a deeper meaning to it than what I just pointed.

Dozens of prisoners surrendered early in the assault stripped down to their underwear

WHY..?! If you were looking for weapons, those prisoners were already in a prison so I doubt you would find anything dangerous with them.. They did not rebel against the Palestinian Forces inside the prison at that time! I guess we all know why, and are aware that those photos could have been banned from publicity if there was an intention. No one thought those photos should not be published. No one wanted them Not to be published. Or is it someone wanted this to happen and these to be published!

  • Hello Mais...I have some comments..1st of all try to avoid using the world "Israel", we didnt admit and we will never do! It was, is and will be Palestine for ever!
The 2nd thing,we should understand the Game!Sa'adat and his group weren't the target of the operation, they used them as a tool to send a msg to all palestanians and Arab people " Shorafa2 only";for anyone who is still beleiving in resistance:this is the end for you all,the hall world will watch you naked! I think u mentioned an important thing when u linked what is happening in Iraq and Palestine and this will imply to syria, lebanon,.... and any country will say NO to the new Middle east from american point view...
I hope the arab world start to understand what is going on behind them , otherwise, all will say: "OKELTO YAWMA OKELA ELTHAWR ELABYAD".
